FAQ’s- Newborn Baby Photography in Lancashire

NEWBORN BABY PHOTOGRAPHY IN LANCASHIRE

I’m a professional photographer offering newborn baby photography in Lancashire from the comfort of your home within the first few weeks after baby being born. I work throughout the whole of Lancashire and Manchester and do also travel further afield.

Q. “I’m pregnant now, when should I book my newborn session?”

A. You can book me anytime after your 20 week scan, booking early is advisable to allow me to block out plenty of time around your due date. Once baby arrives contact us straight away and we can arrange a suitable time for your session. The ideal time is when baby is between 5-10 days old.

Don’t worry, if you are due soon or have even had your baby, do get in touch anyway as we sometimes have last minute availability, after all babies arrive on their own schedule!

Q. “Where is the photoshoot and how long does it last?”

A. The session can be done in your home, i’ll bring everything to you to set up the ‘mini studio’ in your home. I only use natural light so I’ll need around 2.5 Metre width free space in front of a large window or double doors/conservatory. I’ve never had a problem fitting in to the available space but please let me know if you think there are any issues

Sessions can last up to 3 hours, this is totally determined by baby as we need them to be asleep for many of the posed images. There will be time for feeding, settling and changing baby in between poses.

Q. “My baby is older than two weeks, can I still book a session?”

A. Yes. Baby portraits can be done at any time, older babies tend to be harder to pose in the curly poses on the bean bag as they are more likely to wake up when we move them. But they can be posed in different ways and usually show the camera their beautiful bright eyes instead of sleeping right through! Check out baby oscar’s session to see examples of posing older babies.

Q. “Can i include siblings in the photos?”

A. Of course. Siblings, parents and even pets can be included in the session alongside baby.

Q. “Are the poses safe?”

A. Safety is our number one priority, all babies are different and its very important for baby to be comfortable and supported at all times. Most of our posing is done on a bean bag covered with soft fluffy blankets, if baby allows us to put them into a certain position this is always done so that baby is supported by mum or dad’s hand and then we edit this out later.

Q. “When will my photos be ready to see?”

A. Newborn images are all hand-finished and individually edited by me. Editing can take up to 4 weeks during busy periods but images are usually on their way well before this.
